History of Japan
Personal Narrative:
History of Japan was a course where we learned the early makings of Japan in our target language. Although it was one of the more labor intensive courses, the homework given was so that the students would be able to state their opinions in cohesive Japanese. We were not only asked to state our opinions via homework assignments but also in class as well during class wide or group discussions. The students were also challenged to comprehend an all Japanese textbook and answer questions based on the readings. Our final presentation (see below) was a topic of our choosing, based on the discussions done in class. |
Course Description:
This course further develops advanced Japanese proficiency through an understanding of Japanese history as a dynamic, interrelated system and employs a variety of processes to identify, analyze and evaluate cultural themes, values and ideas. Students will demonstrate ability to accurately comprehend ideas across a range of historical content. Taught in Japanese. |
